סוי

סְוֵי (cmp. Syr. סוא a. סוח cupio, P. Sm. 2540; 2546, a. זוּחַ I) to be bright, cheer up. Keth.62b דל עינה … ס׳ לבהוכ׳ he lifted up her eye (attracted her attention), she saw him, her heart was overjoyed, her spirit fled (she fainted). Af. אַסְוֵי to look up with joy. Ib. 60a הוה קא מַסְוֵי לאפה (not הות) the child looked up to her with joy (showing that he recognised his mother).
